This Privacy Policy explains how NetCon Advisory (“NetCon Advisory”, “we”, “us” or “our”) collects, uses, stores and discloses personal information through our website, netconadvisory.au, and in the course of our business. NetCon Advisory is an independent network engineering and advisory business based in Queensland, Australia.

Information we collect

When you submit an enquiry through our website, we collect the information you enter in the form:

  • your name
  • your business or organisation
  • your email address
  • your phone number (optional)
  • your location
  • the type of assistance or service you are interested in
  • your preferred contact method
  • the details you include in your enquiry or message

We also collect personal information you provide when you contact us by email, or in the course of an engagement – for example, business contact details and information about your network and systems that you choose to share with us.

Like most websites, our website and hosting environment may also process technical information such as your IP address, browser and device type, the pages you request, and the date and time of your visit. This is used to operate and secure the website and to help prevent spam and misuse of the enquiry form.

Website analytics and cookies

We use Google Analytics to understand how visitors use our website, such as which pages are visited, how visitors arrive at the site and the general type of device and location (for example, country or city) they use. Google Analytics uses cookies and similar technologies to distinguish visitors and sessions. We use this information in aggregate to improve the website; we do not use it to identify individual visitors.

We have not enabled Google Analytics advertising features, remarketing or advertising personalisation. Google processes analytics data on our behalf, and information about how Google uses data from sites that use its services is available at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites.

You can control or delete cookies through your browser settings, and you can opt out of Google Analytics by installing the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on. The website will continue to work if you block analytics cookies.

How we use personal information

We collect, hold and use personal information to:

  • respond to your enquiry and communicate with you using your preferred contact method
  • discuss, scope, provide and administer our services
  • operate, maintain and secure our website, including preventing spam and misuse
  • understand how our website is used so we can improve it
  • comply with our legal obligations

If you do not provide the information requested in the enquiry form, we may not be able to respond to your enquiry. Where it is lawful and practicable, you may contact us without identifying yourself or by using a pseudonym, although we will need some way of contacting you in order to reply.

Storage and service providers

Enquiries submitted through the website are stored in our website’s content management system (WordPress) on our website hosting provider’s servers and are emailed to us. Our business email is provided through Microsoft 365.

We may disclose personal information to service providers where reasonably necessary to operate our website and business or to provide our services – for example, our website hosting provider, our email provider (Microsoft) and our website analytics provider (Google). We may also disclose personal information to our professional advisers, or where we are required or authorised to do so by law.

Some of these service providers may store or process information outside Australia, including in the United States and other countries where they or their sub-processors operate.

We do not sell personal information.

We take reasonable steps to protect the personal information we hold from misuse, interference, loss, and unauthorised access, modification or disclosure. However, no method of transmitting or storing information online is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee the security of information you send to us.

We keep personal information only for as long as we reasonably need it for the purposes described in this policy or as required by law, and then take reasonable steps to delete or de-identify it.

Accessing or correcting your information

You may ask to access the personal information we hold about you, or ask us to correct it if you believe it is inaccurate, out of date or incomplete. Please contact us using the details below. We may need to verify your identity before acting on your request.

Questions and complaints

If you have a question about this policy or a concern about how we have handled your personal information, please contact us first so we can try to resolve it. We will consider your complaint and respond within a reasonable time.
